How we perform a power flush
We use a power flushing machine — a pump-driven device that is connected to your central heating system at a particular point. Once connected, it pumps fresh water and Fernox cleaning chemicals through the entire system to break down and flush out dirt and debris from the pipes and radiators. Depending on the condition of your system, the process may be repeated several times to clean it thoroughly. Finally, we refill the system, adding neutralising crystals and a corrosion inhibitor to protect it for the long term. A typical power flush takes between four and eight hours, and we leave absolutely no mess behind.
When a power flush may not be suitable
In certain situations, a power flush may not be the right approach. If the pipework, radiator valves, or radiators are so old that flushing could lead to leaks, a chemical flush — carried out without the pump machine — combined with the installation of a MagnaClean filter may be the more sensible option.
